Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is University School of Jackson's 12th in Last 15 Outings

University School of Jackson won the last time they faced Fayette Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The University School of Jackson Bruins took down the Fayette Academy Vikings 59-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

It was another big night for Mills Terry, who made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 24 points along with seven boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Sam Keyl, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Fayette Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zane Pike, who earned seven points in addition to 11 rebounds and five blocks. Pike is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbin Bowling, who put up nine points and seven boards.

University School of Jackson has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 33.6% in those games and 21.9% outside of them. As for Fayette Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Trinity Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Fayette Academy will host Trinity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while University School of Jackson will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
