Basketball Game Preview: Harker Heights Knights vs. Bryan Vikings

The Harker Heights Knights and the Bryan Vikings will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Harker Heights is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Shoemaker just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 49-38 to the Wolves. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Wolves are ranked 266th).

Meanwhile, Bryan suffered their closest loss since January 30th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Midway by a score of 62-60. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Harker Heights' loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Bryan, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-6.

Harker Heights took their win against Bryan when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 64-41. Will Harker Heights repeat their success, or does Bryan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
