Baseball Recap: Pocatello's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Pocatello's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Columbia Wildcats. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

JORDAN WILDE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Pocatello is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on KACHE STUCKI, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. NATE ROGERS also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Pocatello's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Columbia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Pocatello didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 defeat against Vallivue on the 5th. As for Columbia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Caldwell on the 10th.
