The Pamlico County Hurricanes will take on the Falls Lake Firebirds on Friday. Pamlico County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6  runs per game  this season.
Pamlico County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Tuesday. They never let Hobgood Charter get on the board and left with  a   5-0  win. Winning may never get old, but the Hurricanes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Not much got past  Avery Cain, who gave up just  a  hit and racked up six Ks to keep Hobgood Charter off the board. Cain has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Kylee Morris, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  triple. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hailey Shamblin, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Meanwhile, Falls Lake entered their tilt with Wake Prep Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Guardians by a score of  5-1.
 Wynterlee Glenn made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and not a single walk). Glenn was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Cora Cates and  Kayla Cash did most of the damage at the plate:  Cates  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Cash  got on base  in two of her three plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.  Jolie Sensenig was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
 Pamlico County's record now sits at 16-8. As for Falls Lake, their record is now 12-10.
Friday's   match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pamlico County hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .407. However, it's not like Falls Lake struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Pamlico County skirted past Falls Lake  6-5 in their previous meeting  back in May of 2019. Do  the Hurricanes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Firebirds turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
