Basketball Recap: Stansbury's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Stansbury won the last time they faced Hillcrest, and Addi Hansen did her part to make sure it happened again. The Stansbury Stallions narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hillcrest Huskies 28-25 thanks in part to Hansen, who posted six points in addition to 11 boards and seven steals. Those seven steals gave her a new career-high.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dayana Mulamba, who earned 11 points and seven rebounds. Addison Back was another key player, putting up three points along with five boards and three steals.

Stansbury moved to 8-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Stansbury will square off against Murray at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hillcrest, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 37-35 win against Park City on the 28th.
