Basketball Game Preview: Bayard Tigers vs. Hemingford Bobcats

Bayard and Hemingford are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Bayard Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Hemingford Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hemingford took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bayard, who comes in off a win.

Bayard took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They managed a 51-45 win over Leyton. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Hemingford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 53-32 to Chadron. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.

Hemingford now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Bayard, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10.

Bayard took a serious blow against Hemingford in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 65-38. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hemingford's Gavin Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Now that Bayard knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
