After a string of three wins, Caney Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dewey Bulldoggers. The Bullpups were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldoggers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Dewey scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-27, 25-20, 25-20.

When it comes to explaining why Caney Valley lost, don't look at Lauryn Davidson. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and three aces. Davidson has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played. Toran Firebaugh also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Caney Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Dewey, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2-2.

Caney Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sedan on the 25th. As for Dewey, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Sequoyah on the 25th.
