Football Recap: Douglass Comes Up Short

If Douglass was feeling good fresh off their 28-0 takedown of Hamilton last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils lost 29-6 to the Memphis East Mustangs on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Memphis East, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Douglass will challenge rival Wooddale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Memphis East is set to square off against their familiar foe Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
