Perry-Lecompton and Valley Falls are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Perry-Lecompton Kaws will take on the Valley Falls Dragons on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Perry-Lecompton beat Royal Valley 46-36. The Kaws haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Valley Falls came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cobras by a score of 59-52.

Valley Falls' win came from a few key players Perry-Lecompton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Trenten VanHoutan, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Kearney, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Valley Falls' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Perry-Lecompton, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Perry-Lecompton beat Valley Falls 58-45 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Perry-Lecompton repeat their success, or does Valley Falls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
