Softball Recap: Carlson Comes Up Short

Carlson extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 18-13 in the process. They lost 13-4 to the Lincoln Railsplitters. The Marauders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Railsplitters from their previous meeting back in April of 2017.

As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

For Lincoln's part, Savanna Kane made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kane was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Autumn Anderson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Ava Greene was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

While Carlson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
