Baseball Game Preview: Rossford Bulldogs vs. Eastwood Eagles

Rossford hasn't had much luck against Eastwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:45 p.m. Rossford has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rossford is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Lake, falling 17-0.

Meanwhile, Eastwood entered their tilt with Perkins on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pirates, sneaking past 5-3.

Drew Kachmarik was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Norton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brock Messinger, who went 3-for-5 with two runs.

Eastwood's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Rossford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
