Soccer Game Preview: Vance County vs. Franklinton

Vance County hasn't had much luck against Franklinton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vipers will take on the Red Rams at 6:15 p.m. Franklinton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Vance County, who comes in off a win.

Vance County took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past East Wake 3-2. Given Vance County's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while East Wake are ranked 401st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Franklinton's offense. They came up short against Wake Forest on Monday, falling 6-0.

Vance County's victory bumped their record up to 15-5-1. As for Franklinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Vance County couldn't quite get it done against Franklinton when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Vipers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
