Softball Recap: Hollywood Has No Trouble Against Belmont

Hollywood won the last time they faced Belmont and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sheiks were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Sentinels. The result was nothing new for the Sheiks, who have now won three matches by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Abigail Castro was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Celeste Huante, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run.

Hollywood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .783. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

The win got Hollywood back to even at 4-4. As for Belmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Hollywood will venture away from home to face off against Contreras at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cobras have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something the Sheiks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Belmont, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Robert F. Kennedy Community at 4:00 p.m. The Sentinels are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
