South Oak Cliff's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 44-0 win over Adamson. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Leopards are ranked 1082nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Oak Cliff's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mikail Trotter, who rushed for 47 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Jayden Williams, who threw for 205 yards and one TD on only 14 passes.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over Spruce on Friday.
