Softball Recap: Washington Tech Comes Up Short

Washington Tech extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They came up short against the Harding Knights, falling 23-6. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Harding, the win got them back to even at 3-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Harding's part, Avorn Vang made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Vang was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Marcela Deloye-Romero was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Cadence Lee was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Washington Tech has already played their next game (against Johnson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Harding, they have also already played their next match, a 22-7 victory against Humboldt on the 25th.
