Basketball Game Preview: Fairview Knights vs. Brighton Bulldogs

Fairview has gone a perfect 6-0 against Brighton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Knights will head out to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Fairview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.

Fairview barely beat Mountain Range the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Mustangs 61-12. With the Knights ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Olivia Soto and Chloe Hickory were among the main playmakers for Fairview as the former went 9-for-16 to rack up 20 points and three steals and the latter posted 14 points along with six boards and four steals. Hickory has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylee Bennett, who scored six points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds.

Fairview was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Brighton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Arvada West and fell 67-17. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.

Brighton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Fairview, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Fairview strolled past Brighton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 48-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
