Baseball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Foothill couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 6-3 to the Casa Grande Gauchos on Saturday. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Gauchos when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Foothill got a good showing from Dean Collins, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Collins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hudson Flora made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Foothill and nudges their season record down to 21-8. As for Casa Grande, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Foothill nor Casa Grande have any future games scheduled.
