Football Recap: Javon Parker Leads Chamberlain's Defense on Friday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chamberlain can now relate to. The contest between the Storm and the Bayshore Bruins didn't end well, with the Storm falling 27-12. The Storm have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Chamberlain lost on Friday, don't look at Anthony Ford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 87 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Devonte Spears got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Chamberlain's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Javon Parker with 2.5.

Jaydis Wiley had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 186 yards and three touchdowns for Bayshore. Wiley's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bruins' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-5 otherwise.

Chamberlain's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Bayshore, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Chamberlain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bayshore, they will challenge Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornadoes' defense has only allowed 10.1 points per game this season, so the Bruins' offense will have their work cut out for them.
