Basketball Recap: Eufaula Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-5, which was the final score in the Eufaula Ironheads's tilt against the Locust Grove Pirates on Thursday. The game marked the Ironheads' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

It was another big night for Claire Hooker, who went 9 for 11 en route to 21 points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds for Locust Grove. Hooker's morning made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Stokes, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Eufaula and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Locust Grove, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Eufaula has already played their next contest (against Stigler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Locust Grove won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Muldrow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
