Softball Recap: Upper Cape Cod RVT Comes Up Short

Upper Cape Cod RVT extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They lost 14-1 to the Sandwich Blue Knights. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Upper Cape Cod RVT saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Kutil, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Kutil has hit this season.

As for Sandwich, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games.

On Sandwich's side, Lane Kraihanzel was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Capri Barber, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Upper Cape Cod RVT and Sandwich will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Upper Cape Cod RVT sees the field they'll take on Norfolk County Agricultural at 3:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Sandwich, their break will end when they face Dennis-Yarmouth Regional at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
