Football Recap: Blake Comes Up Short

If Blake was riding high fresh off their 34-12 takedown of Middleton last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blake Yellow Jackets had to suffer through a 33-0 loss at the hands of the Hillsborough Terriers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 38-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Hillsborough had a senior duo take command as Nydia Sepulveda gained 182 total yards and two touchdowns and Makyla Hickman picked up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Anaja Griffin made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hillsborough, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Blake and Tampa Bay Tech will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. Blake has given up an average of 26 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Hillsborough will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Alonso at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th.
