High school football: Two senior girls in Oklahoma step up to help team avoid forfeit

Senior girls Natalie Davis and Callie Ramsey answered the call Friday night to help a high school football team in Oklahoma avoid its second forfeit in three weeks.
Wewoka ultimately fell to
Mounds 47-14 but just getting on the field was a win for the short-handed Tigers.
Due to illness and injury, Wewoka was forced to call off a Sept. 9 matchup with Okemah on the heels of a 70-0 loss to Holdenville in its season opener.
Faced with similar circumstances Friday, Davis and Ramsey volunteered for emergency duty. They did more than just fill a uniform as Davis handled kicking and punting duties, even tripping up a returner for a tackle on a kick-off.
Wewoka is a Class A school an hour east of Oklahoma City with less than 200 students.
