Baseball Game Preview: West Holmes Knights vs. Philo Electrics

The West Holmes Knights will face off against the Philo Electrics at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: West Holmes has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Philo will arrive with three straight wins.

West Holmes lost 13-6 to Lexington on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Philo won against Tri-Valley on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Electrics blew past Crooksville 10-4.

Garrett Tom and Kayden McElfresh were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Tom tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, McElfresh tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. At bat, Tom got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while McElfresh got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Jack Lincicome was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Roush, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Philo's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for West Holmes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
