Soccer Recap: Hampton Roads Academy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Hampton Roads Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the First Flight Nighthawks 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Hampton Roads Academy were the better team in the second half.

Zachary Busch and Bryce Wedding scored both of Hampton Roads Academy's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

First Flight's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Hampton Roads Academy will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Veritas School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Flight, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-4 draw against Norfolk Academy on the 28th.
