Softball Game Preview: Harleton Wildcats vs. Union Grove Lions

For the second straight game, Harleton will face off against Union Grove. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Harleton Wildcats face off against Union Grove Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Harleton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Harleton needed a bit of extra time to put away Union Grove. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lions 7-6. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one run.

For Union Grove's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Dabreu, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kaki Pharr was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Harleton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Union Grove, they moved to 10-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
