Volleyball Recap: La Quinta Blackhawks vs. Valley View Eagles
La Quinta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley View Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Monday.
La Quinta was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Valley View work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24.
Brooklyn Sutton paced La Quinta's offense, picking up six kills. Sutton got some help from Atia Moya and her 15 assists. Finally, Audrenna Salter kept La Quinta's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.
La Quinta's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Valley View, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: La Quinta beat the Eagles by a score of 1-0 later that day.
