Fort Meade had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 13-9 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Auburndale Bloodhounds 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Miners: when they faced off against the Bloodhounds back in March, they had to take a 12-10 loss.

The team relied heavily on Makayla Deleon, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Kenya Faulk was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fort Meade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 10-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

As for Auburndale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 5, 2024.

On Auburndale's side, Ailenid Lozada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Auburndale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Meadows, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Fort Meade wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-1 loss against Tampa Catholic on the 16th. As for Auburndale, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-4 defeat against Lake Minneola on the 21st.
