Basketball Game Preview: Elida Bulldogs vs. Lima Senior Spartans

Elida and Lima Senior are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Elida Bulldogs will be taking part in a tournament against the Lima Senior Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Elida is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Kenton just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 50-48. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Wildcats are ranked 139th).

Meanwhile, Lima Senior made easy work of Bowling Green on Monday and carried off a 55-34 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Elida's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Lima Senior, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Elida beat Lima Senior 50-37 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Elida repeat their success, or does Lima Senior have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
