Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

After flying high against Santa Clara on Wednesday, Mountain View came back down to earth. The Spartans came up short against the Homestead Mustangs on Friday, falling 10-2. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zander Yocum, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another was Caleb Low, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mountain View has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Homestead, their record is now 9-15.

Coming up, Mountain View will head out on the road to face off against Archbishop Riordan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Homestead, they will welcome Los Gatos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
