Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Kiowa's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Kiowa's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 54-46 to the Savanna Bulldogs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cowboys came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 271st).

Kiowa's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Savanna, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.

Kiowa will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Caddo at 8:00 p.m. on January 28th. Kiowa is on a four-game streak of home wins, Caddo a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Savanna, they will challenge Haileyville at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
