Basketball Game Preview: Penn Cambria Panthers vs. Forest Hills Rangers

Penn Cambria hasn't had much luck against Forest Hills recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Penn Cambria Panthers will head out to take on the Forest Hills Rangers at 7:15 p.m. Penn Cambria has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Penn Cambria took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Chestnut Ridge with a sharp 64-42 win. The matchup marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Penn Cambria found their leader in sophomore Avery LeMaster, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 15 points. The dominant performance gave LeMaster a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tagen McConnell, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Penn Cambria was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Forest Hills scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 74-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Carroll. The Rangers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Penn Cambria now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Forest Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Penn Cambria might still be hurting after the 64-39 defeat they got from Forest Hills in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Penn Cambria avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
