Softball Recap: Sheridan Takes a Loss

Sheridan blew Benton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Benton got their revenge. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Yellowjackets have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Skylar Sterritt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Sterritt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Sheridan dropped their record down to 14-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Benton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheridan will face off against Genoa Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Benton, they will square off against Parkview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
