The Lehman Lobos will square off against the Leander Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Lehman is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Glenn on Friday. They fell 5-1 to the Grizzlies. The Lobos haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Lehman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlin Uptmore, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That hit was Uptmore's first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leander). They were the clear victor by a 17-3 margin over Cedar Park on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Scarlett Geurin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Madelyn Lee was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Allen, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3.
Leander always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Leander pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lehman, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6-1.
Lehman might still be hurting after the 17-5 defeat they got from Leander when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Lehman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
