Columbiana picks up 12th straight win at home

Recap: Columbiana Clippers vs. Springfield Tigers

The Columbiana Clippers can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They breezed by Springfield at home to the tune of 47-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Columbiana has posted since December 14, 2023.

Leading Columbiana to victory were Averi Marshall and Ellie Venezia. Marshall scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Venezia scored ten points along with six rebounds. Alaina Johnston was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jameka Brungard, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Maughan, who scored six points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Springfield struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Columbiana's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Springfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbiana will challenge Wellsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Lowellville at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
