            Baseball Recap: Cascade Cadets vs. Crawfordsville Athenians        
        
		
        
        
            Cascade had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-6  win over the Crawfordsville Athenians  on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Cadets have posted  since May 7, 2024.
 The team  relied heavily on  Toby Savini, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  TJ Turner, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
Crawfordsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1.
 Coming up, Cascade will square off against University at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Cadets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trailblazers have averaged an impressive 9  runs per game this season. As for Crawfordsville, they will challenge Northview at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
