Basketball Game Preview: Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets vs. Cristo Rey Jesuit Hornets

Chapelgate Christian Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Cristo Rey Jesuit recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After dropping their season opener at home, Cristo Rey Jesuit is headed out to face a Yellowjackets squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Chapelgate Christian Academy took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Hope Academy Regional on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Justin Davis, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Grant, who scored 13 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Cristo Rey Jesuit had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Loyola Blakefield and fell 93-37. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Dons recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Chapelgate Christian Academy strolled past Cristo Rey Jesuit when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 60-44. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
