A District 16 recap September 4, 2013

Memphis Northside fell to Ripley 69-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Memphis Academy of Health Sciences led A District 16 in scoring this week after putting up 29 points on Oakhaven.

Tomadreus Trezevant and Tomadreus Trezevant gave Mitchell a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Trezevant threw for 80 yards, while Trezevant ran for 58 yards. Randy Browley also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.

Trezevant put up the best numbers in passing as Mitchell lost to Memphis Central. Trezevant's favorite target this week was Browley, who caught 2 passes for 24 yards.

Vincent Roberts was the best wideout in the league this week as Hillcrest fell to Covington.

Trezevant was the most successful running back in the league this week.

The Vikings' James Stittiams and Roberts have formed a dream team this season, leading A District 16 in both passing and receiving yards. Stittiams has thrown for 171 yards this season, while Roberts, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 6 catches for 115 yards. Nathan Cole's team's Trezevant leads the league in rushing yards with 86.

The Tigers are currently in fifth, while KIPP Collegiate is in second.

The Lions made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,941 from 12,441. The improvement came about via a 29-8 victory over the Hawks last week.
