Softball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Comes Up Short

Sunrise Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Canyon Springs Pioneers, falling 21-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Miners of the 36-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Canyon Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sunrise Mountain is set to square off against their familiar foe Pahrump Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Canyon Springs will face off against rival The Meadows School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
