Softball Recap: Gilbert Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Gilbert's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Sunnyside Blue Devils on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Gilbert saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Somiya Bryant, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double marked the first that Bryant has hit this season.

Gilbert now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Sunnyside, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilbert will head out to face off against South Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sunnyside, they will venture away from home to challenge Nogales at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
