Softball Recap: Timberlane Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Timberlane won the last time they faced Nashua South and things went their way on Monday too. The Owls came out on top against the Purple Panthers by a score of 9-5.

Elizabeth Shanley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Timberlane got a massive performance out of Madison McFadden, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave McFadden a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chaunda Poulin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Timberlane was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nashua South only posted a batting average of .250.

Timberlane has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Nashua South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timberlane will host Alvirne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Owls are facing the Broncos at the right time seeing as the Broncos are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Nashua South, they will welcome Merrimack at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
