Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Assumption's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Assumption extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Ashlinn James. The Assumption Rockets blew past the Highlands Bluebirds 55-28 on Friday thanks in part to James, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 17 points in addition to six boards and six steals. James is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Allen, who posted two points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Assumption is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Highlands, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Assumption's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on George Rogers Clark at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. George Rogers Clark knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Assumption likes a good challenge. Highlands has already played their next game (against Campbell County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
