Football Recap: Valley View Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Valley View's offense. They were beaten by the Delaware Valley Warriors 41-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Warriors since September 2, 2016.

Delaware Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Colin McGarvey out in front who threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. McGarvey's passing game has become a key predictor of the Warriors' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Michael Iuzzolino helped McGarvey out on the ground, picking up 85 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 73 yards and one TD.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Delaware Valley, they pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will head out to challenge Wyoming Valley West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Delaware Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against North Pocono at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
