Football Recap: St. Pauls Skates Past Fairmont with Ease

St. Pauls put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 31-0 win over the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

The critical scores for St. Pauls came from Yoshua McBryde, Malikah Locklear, Aubrey Cobbs, and Jakhi Purcell.

One reason for the win was St. Pauls' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Dezhian Roberts was especially locked on to Fairmont's QB and sacked him three times. With that strong performance, Roberts is now averaging an impressive 1.2 sacks per game. St. Pauls received some extra help from Cobbs, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

St. Pauls' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Fairmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

St. Pauls and Fairmont will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Bulldogs see the field they'll take on E.E. Smith at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Fairmont, their break will end when they face South Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
