Volleyball Recap: Trimble Gets Past Alexander

The Trimble Tomcats beat the Alexander Spartans 3-1 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tomcats.

Trimble had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.

When it comes to explaining why Alexander lost, don't look at Laney Douglas. Despite the final result, she had 34 assists, 14 digs, and five kills. Another player making a difference was Abbi Ohms, who had 20 digs and an assist.

Trimble has now won six of their last seven games at home. That gives them a 9-5 record this season. As for Alexander, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trimble will play host again on Thursday to welcome Southern, where the match is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. As for Alexander, they will welcome Miller at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
