Recap: Julian Eagles vs. Horizon Prep Lions
The Julian Eagles's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Horizon Prep by a score of 49-39. This was payback for Julian, who suffered a 56-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Julian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Cruz, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds. Carlo Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Julian now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Horizon Prep, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Julian will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Empire at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mountain Empire focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Horizon Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Monarch at 5:30 p.m. Monarch presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Horizon Prep in California (Monarch is ranked 637th, while Horizon Prep is ranked 1343rd).
