Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Nazareth Academy

There's no place like home for Nazareth Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Bensalem Fighting Owls on Friday as they made off with a 14-3 win. The result was nothing new for Nazareth Academy, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jill DiMario spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hailey Kober was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Alaira Rios was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Nazareth Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bensalem, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Nazareth Academy will head out to square off against Archbishop Carroll at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Bensalem, they will take on Harry S. Truman at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
