Baseball Recap: Lowry Buckaroos vs. Spring Creek Spartans

Lowry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Creek Spartans. That's two games in a row now that Lowry has lost by exactly four runs.

Connor Peterson and Brayden Dennis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Peterson scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Dennis scored a run while going 3-for-4.

On Spring Creek's side, Dillon Payne made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. Payne was also big at the plate, going 1-for-1 with three RBI.

In other batting news, PJ Zubiria was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Wyatt Sandoval was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Lowry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Spring Creek, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

Lowry is on the road again on Friday to play Churchill County at 4:00 p.m. Lowry has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Spring Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Fernley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Fernley is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
