Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is South Summit's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

South Summit extended their postseason success on Friday against Union. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Malia Olson, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Brinley Stapleton was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one RBI.

South Summit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They are 12-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

South Summit has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season. As for Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-12.

As of now, neither South Summit nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
