Football Recap: Spartanburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The matchup between Spartanburg and Dutch Fork on Friday hardly resembled the 24-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Vikings had to suffer through a 54-21 loss at the hands of the Silver Foxes. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Silver Foxes from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kyle Henry and Sheldon Shine. Henry rushed for 102 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries while Shine rushed for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Those 102 rushing yards gave Henry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Martin, who rushed for 78 yards and one score.

Spartanburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spartanburg will welcome Broome at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dutch Fork, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ridge View at 7:30 p.m.
