Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Valdez couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Kenai Central Kardinals by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Buccaneers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Valdez actually scored more points across those five sets (103-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 12-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-11.

Valdez's loss dropped their record down to 44-12-1. As for Kenai Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 38-16-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Valdez nor Kenai Central have any future games scheduled.
